Getting My Website Online
You have now designed a great website following my pointers on what makes a good website design and built a super looking website using one (or more) of the great tools shown in step 2 what you need to build a website.
It is now time to show this off to the world. But how do I do this? Well, if you are brand new to web site design and publishing let me explain.
When you publish a website, this means you have sent up the files from your desktop computer to your web space that is provided by a web host.
There are many, many 100’s to choose from and along with our web site design service, we also offer hosting. Alas, this is not for general sale but just for our clients.
Worry not, if you choose to go it alone, I have vast experience using many hosts and one of the world’s biggest is 1&1. They offer comprehensive tools for beginners right up to expert clients.
If you are looking for something a bit special, then please feel free to contact me as i have a huge network of service providers who can help.
Your Will Need Reliable Hosting
I recommend 1&1 for those taking their first steps into web publishing.
Your Will Need Anti-Virus Software
And finally. To protect your brand new machine you bought from step 2 from nasty bugs online, you need to install some anti virus software.
Many machines come with this pre-installed but this is one of my favourites because it is easy to install and configure.
Got a question about this or any part of this series? Great, just contact me and I will be happy to help.
Please bear in mind that this is an overview and in the coming weeks, each step will be broken down into details guides you can refer to at anytime.
Thanks for stopping by, Daren. Owner, LOS Design UK.
